As part of the school's sports development program stream, SEDA College students experience an integrated program where sports partner inductions, community events and work placements provide industry immersion.

AFL Central Victoria has announced a new partnership with SEDA College, a leading Independent Senior Secondary School and the state’s largest provider of the Victorian Certificate of Education – Vocational Major (VCE VM). The partnership aims to connect education and sports and nurture an environment where students who are passionate about sports have the opportunity to work alongside industry leaders and gain the practical skills that can help boost their future success.

By joining forces, AFL Central Victoria and SEDA College will create unique opportunities for students to engage with the sporting community, gain hands-on experience and prepare for future careers in the sports industry. The partnership will enhance the curriculum through industry-relevant projects and initiatives, ensuring that students are connected to Australia’s leading sport, recreation, community and trade organisations.

“This is an exciting collaboration that aligns perfectly with our mission to support and nurture young talent in sports,” says Jay Cathrine, Commercial Manager of AFL Central Victoria.

“We believe that by working with SEDA College, we can provide students with a pathway to enrich their education while actively participating in the sporting landscape of central Victoria.”
