Tertiary students across Australia can apply for a cash grant as Australian telecommunications company, SpinTel opens its Entrepreneur Grant for 2024. The grant is tailored for students pursuing studies in business, marketing, finance, economics and communications, and aims to foster innovative thinking and disruptive business ideas.

Last year, the grant attracted more than 500 student applications, with the expectation of drawing an even larger pool of aspiring innovators this round.

SpinTel CEO Liam Bal says the grant is designed to recognise, incentivise and invest in the country’s tertiary students who are the future of innovation in our country.

“We were truly inspired by the calibre of submissions received last year and we eagerly anticipate discovering fresh talent and the disruptive ideas that this year’s applicants will bring,” Mr Bal says.

“The grant enables students to articulate their vision and the impact they hope to make in their chosen field, and feedback shows the process helps them clarify areas of personal growth, passion and ideas.

Budding entrepreneurs invited to apply now

SpinTel established in 1996 and is one of the largest privately-owned ISPs in Australia. The $5,000 grant is offered to eligible students enrolled full-time in diploma, degree, or traineeship programs in business, marketing, finance, economics, and communications at accredited Australian Tertiary Education Institutions. Entries for the 2024 grant are now open and close on 30 May 2024.

Past recipients, Mr Bal says, “have used the grant towards their tuition fees, professional memberships and resources that have been valuable in supporting their education”.

“At SpinTel, we recognise that innovative thinking is essential for progress, and by nurturing this value in students, we are not only investing in future talent but also fostering a culture of innovation that drives our industry forward.”
