What is Home Run Heroes?
Home Run Heroes is a fun, inclusive and engaging program designed to introduce primary school-aged children to the fundamentals of softball. But it’s more than just a sport—it’s a vehicle for teaching physical literacy, resilience, and teamwork in a way that’s active, enjoyable, and accessible.
The program is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and can be easily integrated into school sport or physical education programs. It’s delivered by trained facilitators or teachers using easy-to-follow lesson plans and equipment that’s safe and age-appropriate.
Why Softball? Why Now?
Softball is uniquely positioned to support children’s development. It combines throwing, catching, running, and striking—core movement skills that are essential for lifelong physical activity. But beyond the physical, it also fosters confidence, communication, and problem-solving.
