Western Australia opens new round of grants to boost preschool participation
Western Australia has launched Round 3 of the Supporting Children in ECEC WA Grant Program, with funding ranging from $20,000 to $100,000 for early childhood education and care (ECEC) providers. The initiative, backed by the Preschool Reform Agreement, is designed to improve access to quality preschool education across the state.
Focus on supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged children
The current round of grants specifically targets increasing preschool participation and school readiness for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, developmentally vulnerable children, and those experiencing social or economic disadvantage. The aim is to help close the gap in early learning outcomes and ensure all children have the best possible start to their education.
Applications open until 25 August, funding decisions in October
ECEC providers can apply for grants from 14 July to 25 August 2025. Successful applicants will be notified in October, with funding to be used for initiatives that support inclusion, engagement, and readiness for preschool-aged children.
Part of broader national preschool reform efforts
This grant round forms part of Western Australia’s commitment under the national Preschool Reform Agreement, which seeks to ensure universal access to high-quality early learning for all children. The program is expected to drive innovation and support best practice across the early childhood sector.
